Language & Community
I believe that scholars in the academy, especially in the social sciences, should be actively engaged in promoting a just and sustainable world by:
(1) serving and respecting the communities they study,
(2) producing scholarship that empowers and celebrates communities that have been discriminated against,
(3) partnering with those communities to produce more informed and culturally-nuanced research.

I have had the privilege to work alongside three incredible language communities: speakers of the Chuvash, Idi, and Ende languages. These pages display some information about the three languages.
